Shomari Hector

Shomari Ajani Hector is a proud product of Bethel Village, Tobago. Shomari is the holder of a Bachelor of Education from the University of Trinidad and Tobago. As an academic and educator, Shomari is an advocate for lifelong learning. He is presently pursuing a Master of Education Degree with specialization in Educational Technology from the University of Trinidad and Tobago concurrently with a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of London.

As a champion for youth participation and involvement, Shomari has served as Executive President of the Student Guild at the University of Trinidad and Tobago. In 2015, he represented the young people of T&T on a Diplomatic Student Mission to Guyana. In 2017, Shomari contested and won the Tobago House of Assembly elections as representative for Bethel/Mt. Irvinem becoming the youngest elected member of that administration.

Shomari's stellar record as an academic, professional, advocate and servant leader is testimony to his capacity to provide the kind of leadership that is needed in the Heliconia Foundation at this time. Shomari enjoys reading, debating, swimming and playing the steel pan. He is a member of the Mt. Paran Spiritual Baptist Church and the Redemption Sound Setters Steel Orchestra.
