Quwiena Roberts

A resident of Diego Martin, Quweina Roberts-Cook holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Florida Memorial University in Miami, and a Master of Science in Strategic Leadership and Management from the University of the West Indies. Still pursuing her academic desires, she is pursuing a Ph.D. in Leadership and Management.

Currently Quweina is the Citizens’ Facilitation Manager at the Office of the Prime Ministers of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. In this capacity she works closely with Ministries and Government Agencies to ensure that all citizens receive the care and protection necessary in meeting all basic needs required for socially-just levels of well-being. Such well-being would encompass social, economic, psychological, spiritual and medical spheres. Her core responsibility rests in working alongside the Prime Minister to bring relief to persons in need of assistance and financial support.

Her background spans a cross section of disciplines, as she has also developed national programmes, written national policy, facilitated and implemented programmes and projects for the Micro and Small Enterprise (MSE) sector according to existing government policy. She has worked with businesses to perform at optimal capacity and ensured that their performance is analyzed and monitored accordingly. She has contributed to the development and implementation of the first Cabinet-approved Business Incubation programme in Trinidad and Tobago: the National Integrated Business Incubation System (IBIS) as well as the FairShare Programme. The latter is geared towards providing government procurement opportunities up to $1 Million to MSE sector enterprises. She has also developed the implementation plan of the National Micro and Small Enterprise Policy (2014-2016) which was approved by Cabinet in September, 2014. This has seen the emergence of a more vibrant, well-informed and diversified MSME Sector.

She has years of experience in the fields of Management and Human Resources though her expertise rests in strategic development, leadership and planning. She comes with extensive experience in Performance and Project Management, Corporate Planning, and Organizational Development. Quweina has done extensive consultancy work, guiding corporations on Strategic Plan development and Change Management plans.

Quweina is a proud wife and mother to one child and is an avid Cruise traveller.
