Kimberly Small

Ms. Kimberly Small is a graduate of St. Leo University in Florida where she double majored and now holds a BSc. in Biology and Environmental Science. She is currently completing her MSc. in Occupational and Environmental Safety and Health (OESH) at the University of the West Indies (UWI), St. Augustine. She began her professional career in the Energy sector and is currently a HSE professional at a research institute. She has been working in the HSE field for the past 8 years. Her formal training is complemented by continuous professional development in several areas as evidence by her recent completion of a course in Energy Efficiency and Energy Auditing. As an environmentalist at heart her passion for our environment and her drive as an individual compels her to continue to develop her skills as she consistently completes these courses expanding her skill set in the field of Health, Safety and Environment.

Community service is also another passion of hers as she is heavily involved in her home district; she is a member of the Barataria Action Group (BAG), The Barataria Police Station Council, a member of the Parish of St. Theresa’s (Malick/ Barataria) and Our Lady of Perpetual Help (OLPH) El Socorro. It gives her great joy and satisfaction to give back and be of service to her community and home. Currently she is exploring a new initiative and starting a Community Based Organization which will focus on building a stronger more connected community and uplifting those of less fortunate circumstances.

Kimberly is also a small business owner, as she is one of the directors of Soap and Stuff TT, a local artisan business which produces natural, handmade, environmentally friendly bath and body products.

As a politically minded individual, who values community service and altruism, with an urge to make a difference, she is proud to be a member of the Heliconia Foundation for Young Professionals which stands on the pillars of Politics, Policy and Philanthropy. She is excited to become a part of the HFYP’s Executive Board of Directors in the role of V.P of Marketing and Branding and commits to serve to the best of her ability to this organization.
